Now it is time to think about your website content.
The written content will be one of your websites most important aspects.

People who surf the web are looking for information.   The information on your website site must be relevant and sought after by your websites end users to have value.

So, first think about the type of people who will visit your site, your potential customers.  What message are you trying to get across to them?  What are you trying to inform them of.  Most importantly, what do you think they are looking for when coming to your website? 

If you're a service company you want to let them know about the services you offer.  Depending on your type of business you may want to include an online portfolio, photo gallery, client list, testimonials, case studies and or news on your company.  Service companies need to be informative.  If you're constantly being asked a lot of the same questions by potential clients you may want to address some frequently asked questions on your website.  You may also consider educating your audience with industry news, insight  and case studies.  Providing your end users with educational information conveys diligence, experience, awareness, and sensitivity to your visitor's needs.

If you are a product driven company your focus will be a bit different.  You will need to highlight your products in the best way possible.  Whether you're selling products online or not, you need to entice potential customers to visit your store.  This is done by highlighting products your clients are looking for in a manner which appeals to them.  Shopping is highly psychological.  When consumers look at products they imagine having those products themselves.  If the messaging is wrong and the consumer can't visualize themselves with the product the sale is lost.  Product website are more graphic and less wordy.  People who are shopping spend less time reading, so information on product websites needs to be impactful and to the point.  Sell on image.

Keep in the back of your mind that content helps drive traffic to your site.  Your sites content is crawled by sherch engines and listed when words ony your pages match keyword searches by end users.  So pay piticular attention to key words that have important revelance to your site.
